Outokumpu environmental product declarations
1000 Kelvin has announce that its flagship AI co-pilot , AMAIZE , has expanded beyond toolpath automation to include nearly the entire metal laser powder bed fusion ( LPBF ) workflow . With AMAIZE 2.0 , 1000 Kelvin continues to make the 3D printing process more reliable , efficient , and scalable for manufacturers across industries . AMAIZE 2.0 now features a comprehensive suite of advanced automation tools designed to tackle some of the most persistent challenges in AM . These include a printability checker which automatically validates and optimizes designs for AM , reducing redesign cycles by 40 %; a cost estimator to deliver upfront cost estimations ; automated support structures which incorporate physicsbased build preparation to save up to 20 % in material costs and enable non-experts to easily implement successful print preparation workflows . These enhancements allow manufacturers to unlock higher Overall Equipment Effectiveness ( OEE ) and increase yield by leveraging AI-powered insights for every step of the printing process .
To support its customers ’ targets to reduce their carbon emissions from the supply chain , Outokumpu has published new environmental product declarations ( EPDs ) that provide externally verified environmental data on its stainless steel products . Outokumpu is driving the green transition by providing stainless steel with up to 75 % lower carbon footprint compared to the global industry average *. “ Outokumpu aims to be its customers ’ first choice in sustainable stainless steel . These externally verified EPDs help to improve data transparency in the stainless steel value chain and make it easier for our customers , for example in the construction , energy and marine industries , to choose materials that help them to reduce their carbon emissions . We at Outokumpu see the EPDs as an important opportunity to communicate the impact of our products in a highly transparent way ”, says Heidi Peltonen , Vice President for Sustainability at Outokumpu . The EPDs are a standardized ** way of providing data about the environmental impacts of a product . The published EPDs cover three stainless steel product groups : austenitic , ferritic and duplex . For each product group , the EPDs will cover both cold and hot rolled stainless steels , totaling the number of EPD documents to six .
