Boom ! LNG under pressure
The Russian-Ukrainian war and the pushback from Western governments have disrupted and distorted energy markets . Following sanctions against Russia and the destruction of the Nordstream pipeline , Europe started to import LNG from the USA , which stepped up its production , but now there is a risk of overcapacity . Also , an explosion in Texas has led to safety concerns . In addition , it transpires that methane emissions are higher than previously thought . Is the current LNG boom sustainable ?
