Ryerson merges with Olympic Steel
Ryerson Holding Corporation, a major value-added processor and distributor of industrial metals, and Olympic Steel, Inc., a major U. S. metals service centre, recently merged. The move enhances Ryerson’ s presence as the second-largest North American metals service centre and represents a highly compatible strategic match as Olympic Steel brings its complementary footprint, capabilities, and product offerings into Ryerson’ s intelligently interconnected network of valueadded service centres. The combined company expects to generate approximately USD 120M in annual synergies by early 2028 via procurement, scale, efficiency gains, commercial portfolio enhancements, and footprint optimisation.
QatarEnergy awards EPC contract
QatarEnergy has awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction( EPC) contract for the onshore LNG plant of the North Field West( NFW) project, a key component of the world’ s major LNG expansion, and the last in a series of expansion projects that will raise the State of Qatar’ s production to 142 million tons per annum( MTPA). The scope of the onshore EPC contract includes two LNG megatrains with a combined production capacity of 16 MTPA, along with associated facilities for gas treatment, natural gas liquids recovery, and helium extraction. In

--------- addition to LNG production, the project is expected to produce about 175,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of condensate, ethane, and liquefied petroleum gas( LPG). The first LNG cargo from the NFW project is expected to be produced by the end of 2031.

Safran landing gear facility in Morocco
Safran has established a new manufacturing facility for landinggear equipment within the Casablanca airport zone. This is part of Safran’ s strategy to support the rampup of Airbus A320 production by deploying a modern, highly efficient manufacturing operation located close to its key strategic markets. Representing an investment of over EUR 280 million, the 26,000 m ²(~ 280,000 sq ft) site will be dedicated to landing systems for short-and medium-haul aircraft and will incorporate two areas of expertise: the manufacture of landing gear components and modules, as well as dedicated hydraulic equipment.
