In the past , when faced with adversity , we ’ ve usually been able to pinpoint the factors that are hitting us the hardest . They ’ ve ranged from banking crises to volatile nickel prices to low oil & gas prices . However , over the past eighteen months , challenges have popped up from often unexpected quarters , and this is where flexibility has helped us . When workplaces were forced to close and home offices became the norm – sometimes repeatedly - you became adept at working flexibly . Mastering the technology and tools that enabled you to keep working meant that you could carry on . When sourcing raw materials became problematic and projects were postponed , you drew on relationships within the industry to keep products moving and machines working , and you carried on . When the supply chains slowed , becoming expensive and unpredictable , you endured and found solutions , and you have carried on .

It hasn ’ t been an easy time for anyone , and the fact that you are holding the 2021 Stainless Steel World Annual Procurement Report in your hands is a testament to your skill and hard work .
