STAGE INVADER MAGAZINE 7 - JUNE 2017 | Page 2

EDITORIAL

A couple of months ago, we turned our blog in a subscription magazine. At that time, we kept the name of the blog, as the name of the magazine.

Now, you are reading the first edition of STAGE INVADER MAGAZINE.Same magazine, new name. With that name, we wanted to create a link between what we do, and the name of the magazine. Stage Invader sounds familliar. Especially with the numerous gamers amongst our readers. Space Invader kept the arcade flag high for a long time. We intend to do the same, be it in a different field of action.

With Stage Invader, we found a name that reflects our core business: we go see bands playing stages around the country and even parts of the world. And we report on that. We invade shows near you, or in places you can't go. A bit later, you can read all about them in the magazine, and see the pictures our photographers made. They become a timeless keepsake.

In short, Stage Invader Magazine, becomes S.I.M. The wordgame has been done before, but if you read this in English, that becomes As I Am. Since individuality is of the biggest importance to both bands and fans - why else do we all buy those expensive clothes, and have an artist draw the most beautifull images on our bodies - we feel this subtitle is a lucky coincidence.

While the magazine is called Stage Invader, that makes our crew Stage Invaders. Not in the way you may think. We don't invade stages like bands tend to do with each other. We stick to the photopit or the crowd, to take pictures and write our reviews. But it does reate a nice feeling of unity. We became even more of a team. A team that works hard to provide you with the greatest stories, interviews, reviews and photo's. We can't visit all the bands and shows out there - you just are with so many - but when we visit, we do it with one thing in mind: Every band, big or small, deserves to be treated in exactly the same way. You all work passionate on your music. And when you finally get our there, to play it live for your fans, we try to be there. We all love music, and we love what you do. That's what Stage Invader Magazine is all about. We try to paint a picture of all those gems out there. A realistic picture, that tells people about what you do. But we are not in the business to tear bands down. If anything, we always look for the positive. Well motivated, we will tell you about the work bands have done. Positive and negative. And if it's so terrible - Let's be honest, there is some pretty terrible stuff out there - we just won't write about it. If we can't find a positive thing about a song, CD or show, we won't fall back on the omnipresent and sometimes brutal bashing you will find all over the internet. There's plenty of people on Facebook who will gladly do that for us.

No, our magazine, always has an eye open for the great bands, you may not have discovered yet. The gems that are hiding in their basement, just for you to be discovered.
