STAGE INVADER MAGAZINE 5 - APRIL 2017 | Page 2

EDITORIAL

Another month has gone by. Another issue of

SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE has been published...

We are happy to tell you our fifth issue is one we are proud of. With ROSS THE BOSS and BLAZE BAYLEY, we offer you two legendary musicians who are proud to be still playing for you. For the former MANOWAR musician, we went to the MOONLIGHT MUSIC HALL in Diest (B). BLAZE played at the SPIRIT OF 66 in Verviers (B) Both small venues, both big names. A proof that in Belgium the old names are still recognized? Or is it proof for the blunt disrespect for great musicians in times of free downloads?

At the same time, many music fans in Belgium are furious about the prices METALLICA ask for their upcoming show in Antwerp. The band charges around 2.500 euro for their VIP-package, while cheaper tickets sold for prices averaging the cost of a very nice diner in a good restaurant. Sold, because the concert is more or less sold out.

These considerations are what SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE is all about. We are an independant magazine. We feel it is our duty to tell our readers about what's going on in the music scene. Iff we would be part of some multinational, most likely, we would be asked not to write about certain topics. Or write about stuff we don't deem important or relating to our readers.

Collecting all the information we need to write great articles for you proves to be a full time job. Writing the reviews, reports or putting the layout together is also part of the job. And then we visit the shows. Obviously, that's not the least pleasant part of our job, but it is one of the more time-consuming. With me leaving for DURBUY ROCK FESTIVAL less then 24 hours after publication of this fifth issue, the race to the publication of our sixth issue in may will be well on it's way. Already, the interview with MINA CAPUTO for our upcoming issue is ready to be unleashed upon you, our readers. And we are planning our summer as we speak, to report on as many shows and festivals possible, with our small crew.

For now, we hope you will enjoy the April issue of SHUTTERWALL MAGAZINE, and we hope you will tell as many friends, family and music fans possible about the work we do. Mouth-to-mouth promotion is important for magazines as much as it is for bands. Thanks in advance.
