Interview with the Chester Romans Players
In Each Magazine we aim to try and get as much information on our
opponents as we can and today we get to speak with a few of the 2014
Chester Romans roster.
First up we speak with Line Backer Danny Cotton
Name : Danny Cotton
Position : Line Backer
Squad No : 58
How many years playing American Football : 7th season (this year)
What got you into the game : Got into the game by watching NFL and it looked like great fun and saw an advert for the
romans in the paper and I’ve been here ever since!
Worst feeling since playing American Football : My worst feeling was the loss to Edinburgh in the 2012 playoffs. It seemed
like everything was against us that day. We made mistakes and you cant give the Wolves half a chance as they're a VERY
well drilled squad but it gave a lot of the veteran guys the drive to get back into it. I love Don and the Edinburgh crew but
that one hurt.
Who is your NFL team : My NFL team is the Seattle Seahawks. First team I ever saw. Im glad I stuck with them.
How do you feel the 2013 season went for your team : I think 2013 was amazing (with the glaring exceptions) . As a team it
was, I believe statistically our best year. We really pulled together and looked out for each other. We really became a band
of brothers. But we had fun. Too many guys nowadays put too much pressure in themselves and it can ruin things quickly.
What do you hope to see from the team in the 2014 season : This season could go either way im optimistic. We still have a
good core of guys from last year and a few retirements but we have had more rookies than ever as well. And its more
important I think that we get these guys who potentially are the future, ready.
Best place you have played American football at : My favourite places are obviously Chester Rugby. I genuinely think its one
of the better grounds in the league and I like Blackburn RUFC also.. home of the Blackswarm
Which player should we keep an eye out for in the game from the Chester Romans : Two guys to look out for this season #34
Ash Wainwright he is a beast and #22 Matt Hyndman and #18 Nadgy Khirat. Both very, very good DB's and poses a threat
to any QB
