Daar kan dus met volle
selfvertroue gesê word dat Grey
reg is vir die res van 2018 en
alles wat daarna sal volg.

Katza is a great catch for Grey soccer
Press conference held to welcome awesome addition to sport
Messrs Henri Büchner (chairperson of the SGB), Ricardo Katza (soccer coach) and Deon Scheepers (headmaster).
Grey College recently welcomed
former Bafana Bafana player
Ricardo Katza as the new director
of soccer. Making his debut as a
school soccer coach during the
second term, he was granted the
opportunity to speak to the boys
during assembly on the 13th
of April, a day after the press
conference held to introduce him to
the greater Bloemfontein. The press
conference was attended by local
journalists and representatives
from the Department of Education
and SAFA.
Katza’s resumé includes 19
appearances for Bafana Bafana, 8
of which he was the captain of the
team, the captain of Super Sport
United for 9 seasons, 221 first class
appearances, a CAF A coaching
license and two international
coaching certificates. He’s coached
a wide array of young developing
soccer players and is ready to take
on the challenge of transforming
soccer at Grey.
His coaching philosophy and
values aligned so well with those
of Grey that it was almost fate he
would get the job. With a son in
Grey, he believes that as important
as it is to improve in sports, he also
wishes to promote a school life
balance so that the learners have
other options, in case a career in

He has been well received by
the boys and staff, making a lasting
first impression when he introduced
himself during assembly, wearing
his multiple layers of soccer jerseys.
Mr Katza has already proven
