Fishing is a game between you and the fish. The game is to see who can wait longer. Can the fish’s
hunger outwait you, or will you outwait the fish’s hunger?
This is the ultimate question when you are fishing for catfish. You put stinky bait on the bottom of the
lake, and just wait. This can really sound boring, but if you go in the morning you can see the sun
rising and the fish jumping out of the water. This is the ultimate paradise because you are relaxed, and
ready for when the fish bites your bait. Anything can make the catfish not take your bait. That is why
fishing is such an intense game of patience. The slightest movement could be the difference between
success and failure. When the catfish takes your bait, and you set the hook is when the action part
begins. The fish is pulling away from you while you are fighting back by reeling your line back in.
This is also the time that you might be adjusting the settings on your rod. One of the settings that could
be changed is the amount of line you are giving the fish. At this time so many things could change so
quickly. As a fisherman you are thinking of so many things at that time, you sometimes forget that
there is a fish on the end of your line. At the same time, all the fish can think is about how to get off
