Title: 2nd year trip to Aws
Description: 27 second year students visited Amazon
Web Services new building on Burlington Road,
Dublin. Students took part in a workshop, which
dealt with Cloud computing, how students use the
Cloud, Data centres and
the Internet of things.
Students had a question
and answer session with
Gavin O’ Duffy (Senior
Manager of Alexa Voice
Services) . This was
the highlight of the trip
for students, who then
got to see how Alexa works. Students got to experi-
ence an operating I.T work place and see the busy
staff in
action. AWS treated the stu-
dents to a Dominos lunch and a goodie
bag when
leaving. This was a thor-
oughly enjoyable trip for both students
and teachers involved.
