Natchanon Jutisooksan in fourth year came second in the The Apprentice Chef Competition. This is a programme run by a professional team of chefs and nutritionists and has been running since 2012. Over 4,000 students have participated in the program.
Students from Transition year get to create their own dish, using local ingredients and find out what it is like to be a professional chef. The students are mentored by a professional over a 3 month period. With his mentor Mark Doe, Natachanon's challenge was to create a dish using locally sourced ingredients to ensure "Good Mood Food".
Natachanon created a dish of pan fried salmon with a rocket, basil and coriander dressing . Natachanon choose and sourced local fresh foods and practiced cooking them in professional kitchen under the guidance of his mentor. His focus was on creating a dish which was healthy and food which would put you in a good mood, For those of us who sampled his dish. we were in great form afterwards!
