REV LESLEY-ANN CRADDOCK
ST OSWALD’S KINGS PARK

Dear Lesley-Ann,
I am writing on behalf of the Scottish Episcopal Institute to convey our hearty
thanks for the sum collected at the recent Vocations Sunday service. It was
typically kind and generous of St Oswald’s to hold such a collection; be
assured that it is deeply appreciated.
The money goes towards the SEI Training Fund which supported our full-time
(incumbent status) students who opt to study for an M Div. degree at New
College along with their formational studies here in the SEI, and their future
curacies. In this way you are not only supporting them but also helping to build
the future leadership of the Scottish Episcopal Church. So, this comes with the
SEI’s warmest thanks to you.
We have an increasing umber of these younger stipendiary candidates.
Indeed we have a good intake at the start of the next academic year in
August, several of whom are opting to take the new Mixed Mode pathway.
That is described in the May newsletter. So you can see there are indeed
workers emerging for the harvest, which is good news – but expensive. So the
presence of a Training Fund is essential, and gifts towards it, like yours, very
welcome indeed.
I was very sorry that Peter could not preach on Vocation Sunday as planned,
due to his accident, but am glad you will meet him soon.
This is an inadequate way of conveying SEI’s thanks to you for your
generosity and thoughtfulness – but be assured these thanks are most sincere
and heartfelt.
With all good wishes, and many thanks
in Christ
Rt Revd Dr Gregor Duncan, Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway
Mr Malcolm Bett, SEC Treasurer
