I didn’t meet with the young man, but with his mother. Her son had become a recluse, had stopped attending his school, he was not eating and had become very verbally and physically aggressive towards his mother, yet refused to seek help or see any doctor. After listening to the mother about her son’s case I went home, studied my notes and then called my supervisor suggesting the remedy I thought was appropriate, then agreed with the mother to meet up again after four weeks. The next meeting was a couple of days before Christmas. I was expecting to hear about improvements in the boy’s mental state. How silly and conceited of me! When I asked how her son was, she simply replied that he was much worse:” He is suicidal, he has told me the name of the building he intends to jump off from and the day he’s going to do it”. He was also not sleeping as well as not eating and in a state of violent paranoia. His mother had contacted the GP of course, however, the response was that until her son did indeed try to commit suicide, there was nothing to be done. At that point I realised that there was no time to go home to look at my notes and consult books; this was urgent: I had a single mother in front of me, in tears, alone, no family nearby and the holidays are the worst possible time for this kind of situations. The extraordinary thing was that now I felt happy and excited. I got the feeling that everything was as it should be, and I was in the right place. You see, Oliver’s mother had suggested the right remedy herself: the picture she described could have been taken from one of my text books; my supervisor said she had never seen such a clear-cut case. What are the chances? And here comes the miracle, ready? A few days after taking the remedy, the mother texted us to say that her son had come down with a viral fever (which is a sign that the remedy is working its way through the system, therefore it is a good thing). After the fever abated, he started to eat again, was much calmer and even thanked his mother for the first time in months for giving him a massage. No violence and no suicide talk. She was over the moon and so was I! One of my course teachers says that when students start practicing, the Universe presents us with the answers, so that we build up the confidence to keep going. I have no doubt that God arranged all these little “coincidences” to occur: the old case re-presents itself at the right time, the crisis that turns into a blessing and the solution is right in front of me! Just to add more “cheese” to this story, I will let you know that the prescribed remedy was Aurum: homeopathic Gold. How Christmassy… Giovanna Franklin 21
