operation last year while I was still in recovery I wiggled my toes and flexed my fingers always mindful of the motto Movement is Life. When I retired from work I took up lawn bowling which I still enjoy and then along came John with his Yoga Class. Would I or would I not join up. I debated for a week and then went for it. Even although I thought I was reasonably supple I soon found muscles that hadn’t been used too much! I came out of the first class with legs like jelly. However, as John says it’s not a competition and you just do what you can and try to improve as you go along. Thank you, John, for introducing me to Yoga in my twilight years. It’s never too late to learn and always remember Movement is Life. Margaret McKenzie Redemptorist St Oswald’s has for many years purchased pre-printed sheets that provide the Sunday readings and psalm but as you are all aware at times the contents have been out of sync with the expectations of visiting Priests and even our own dear Rev Lesley-ann. It was announced on Sunday 21 January 2018, but due to adverse weather conditions not everyone may have received the message that St Oswald’s will be cancelling our subscription and will print our own sheets. Future Pew Sheets will follow the Scottish Episcopal Church Calendar and Lectionary. The readings for Sundays and Principal Holy Days were taken from the Revised Common Lectionary; this offers a three-year cycle. The Synoptic Gospels are read semi-continuously, Matthew in Year A; Mark in Year B; Luke in Year C with passages from the Fourth Gospel occurring at significant points during the three-year cycle. We are presently in 2018 and in the three-year cycle Year B. Rev Lesley-ann will assist me to ensure the rota in the magazine provides you with the correct readings for the Sunday. On a Sunday morning you will receive your Pew Sheet with the readings and the notices as per usual. Pray for a seamless transition. Morag Magazine Editor 10
