Here the meaning of this festival becomes clear: to show the presence of
God in His people.
The Procession is a kind of re-enactment of the Way to Emmaus, worked out
in three stages: First we have to assemble and be in His presence (Jesus
said: “Where there are two or three assembled in my name I shall be among
them”). Then we are on the way, the people of God together sharing their
experiences like the men going to Emmaus. And then we celebrate the
Eucharist together with Him and each other. We celebrate liturgically His
presence, by walking the way, by listening and sharing. Our aim is to make
His presence felt in this world and carry it out into the world, to demonstrate
His love for the world. The Festival of Corpus Christi wants to carry out God’s
love into the world and celebrate it in public.
