What’s on in the Southside of Glasgow in May! The Southside Fringe (8th - 24th May) is focused upon providing a fortnight of quality opportunities for acts, performers and musicians. We also hope to involve as many venues and businesses as we can with a view to boosting existing custom over the fortnight and to raise the profile of the Southside on the arts landscape and draw new customers, visitors and audiences to the wonderful facilities the Southside has to offer. http://southsidefringe.org.uk/ Saturday 9 May 2015 The Makers Workshop, 912 Pollokshaws Rd, Shawlands. Live demonstrations (12:00 – 16:00) and the chance to try out fundamental jewellery making techniques such as piercing & soldering. No booking required - free to attend - pay for what you make. Saturday 9 May 2015 (13:00 – 15:00 Street Theatre). Back by popular demand, the Fringe Enforcers will be out and about on the streets of the Southside measuring your smiles, ensuring health and happiness rules are adhered to. Are you the height of nonsense? Watch out, watch out The Fringe Enforcers are about. Saturday 9 May 2015 (19:00 – 21:00), Govanhill Baths, 99 Calder Street. Following on from last years ‘This Is Not A Fashion Show’ Rags to Riches vows to wow audiences once again. Set in the Govanhill Baths ‘Steamie’ this year’s event will showcase another array of innovative upcycled outfits created by the Rags To Riches volunteers. Queen's Park offers something for everyone. From manicured lawns and bedding areas for the gardening enthusiast to peaceful naturalised walks rich in wildlife. The park is extremely well used and is busy all year round. A great range of sport and recreational facilities can be found here along with a boating pond and smaller nature pond.
