May 2009 - Grant application - Federal Social Housing program of the Economic Stimulus package .
Operations Team led by Jeff Bishop , with Kay Beatton and Margaret Hunt . Building team – Keith Baker and Peter Biggs , with Alan Morschel .
June 2009 - Negotiations with ACT Housing - Department personnel changed after several meetings and back to square 1 .
Sept 2009 - Grant awarded - $ 1.1m to be managed through ACT Housing . Department personnel changed after several meetings and back to square 1 !
Dec 2009 - Building design - Preliminary plans progressively refined by Alan Morschel , continuing until Oct 2010 .
Feb 2010 - Consultation with neighbours - Walkways agreed through block . Landscape design - Included courtyard gardens for residents . Sub lease agreed - To provide certainty of continued management .
Sept 2010 - Submission to Uniting Church Property Trust approved . Oct 2010 - Building Contract let by ACT Housing with Greenscope .
Dec 2010 - Operating Deed agreed - Contains conditions for 20 years . Management Committee formed . Keith Baker Interim Chair , St Margaret ’ s ; UnitingCare Ageing ( UCA ); UnitingCare Disability ( UCD ); DACT ; Holy Cross ; resident families and community representatives .
April 2011 - Building completed .
May 2011 - Building furnished from donations and at St Margaret ’ s cost .
22 May 2011 - Blessing of house with presbytery and neighbours .
July 2011 - Selection of residents . Selection committee of John Goss , Kay Beatton , UnitingCare and ACT Housing . Compatibility of residents and families tested . Selection of Natalie as Resident Adviser .
