I have installed this free App on my phone and can report that it works very well when transcribing a clear voice not speaking too quickly . It does not work so well when the speaker is wearing a mask ! Nor , unfortunately , does it work well recording TV - I had hoped it would be a simple way of getting captions when a broadcast TV program has none , but I have not been able to get it to work in that way yet .
I have found that , if you and a hearing impaired person sit close together so you can speak into and look at the screen of an iPhone or ( preferable ) an iPad , then the hearing impaired person can read what you are saying to them . Well worth trying out if you and a friend have difficulty because one of you has a hearing loss .
