Diary Dates
Sunday 24 November, our Good Faith choir will join with Kaleidoscope
choir to present a repeat concert in the Queanbeyan Uniting Church.
Sunday 1 December, 9.30 AM - Joint Advent Family Worship Service
7.30 PM - ‘Darkness into Light’. Evening candlelit service - 9 lessons
and carols. Good Faith and Holy Rosary choirs will join together to sing.
Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 December. Joint St Margaret’s/Holy
Cross/Holy Rosary event: “North Canberra Nativity Festival” in our large
hall. More than 130 nativity displays from around the world will be on
exhibition. School groups will be invited to visit on the school days. Gold
coin donation to Christmas Bowl.
Saturday 14 December 7 PM: Looking Glass Percussion Concert in the
church, followed by refreshments. Musicians will perform tuneful music
on marimba, xylophone and vibraphone to usher in the start of the holi-
day season. Be dazzled by duos, tap along to ragtime and sing along to
carols. FREE ADMISSION.
Sunday 15 December, free community BBQ at 6 PM, followed by
community carols at 7PM. Outdoors in the area between the church
and Phillip Avenue. Musical groups entertaining. Good Faith and Holy
Rosary choirs singing.
Contributions Wanted
All members of St Margaret’s and the broader Hackett-Downer-
Watson community are invited to contribute articles and photo-
graphs about things that have happened or are going to happen at
the St Margaret’s/Holy Cross complex or in the local community.
Articles about members of the community’s own involvements in
things of interest to others in the community may also be submitted
for potential publication. The deadline for material for the next
issue is 13 December 2019, with that issue being published on 20
December. Material should be given to the editor Brian Rope or to
Lynda at the church office. It may be handwritten or typed. It may
be posted, emailed or personally delivered. The Editor reserves the
right to edit, or even not use, material.
