Message from Andrew Leigh Local Federal MP, Andrew Leigh, has always taken a keen interest in St Mar- garet’s and Holy Cross activities. He was unable to attend the 50th anniver- sary celebrations as he was in New Zealand with his family at the time. However, he did send us this message: When a couple have been married for 50 years, they get a letter from the Prime Minister. So it seems only fitting that when two churches have been intertwined for half a century, they get a congratulatory message from their local MP. As your federal representative and a Hackett resident, I couldn’t be prouder of all that St Margaret’s and Holy Cross have achieved. From Tuckerbox to Ross Walker Lodge, Toybox to inspiring sermons, you serve the community and nourish the mind. In an age of growing populism and inequality, you’re an example to us all that we can achieve so much more together. Warm wishes Andrew Leigh (Member for Fenner and grandson of a Methodist Minister) Image by Brian Rope St Margaret’s News 4 February 2018
