25 Years after 7th WCC
25 years ago (from 7 to 20 February 1991) the 7th World Council of Churches Assembly was
held in Canberra. Many of us participated after working for years on various aspects of the
planning. Here’s a couple of photos taken during the event by Brian Rope. The one on the
right shows one then St Margaret’s member providing AV (presumably) services.
"The incredibly complex issues that came to the fore in the 1991 WCC Canberra Assembly
continue to echo in contemporary ecumenical history," writes Prof. Victor Wan Chi Hsu,
Associate General Secretary of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT), in a post for the
#PilgrimageofJusticeandPeace blog which looks back at the #WCC 7th Assembly in
Canberra, exactly 25 years ago. You can read it here http://blog.oikoumene.org/
