Rebus Theatre Group Rebus Theatre Company is a unique ensemble of actors who create and use ’Forum theatre’ an interactive model to raise awareness of real-life issues and discrimination faced daily by people with disabilities. The company comprises actors with and without disabilities and brings a variety of lived experience to their performances using techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed, first developed by Augusto Boal in Brazil. It uses workshops and performances to give voice to marginalised people and to create dialogue in the community around social issues. Rebus Theatre’s current plays portray issues faced by people who have visual impairment, mental illness, Down syndrome and a number of other disabilities. On 2 and 3 December, Rebus conducted All In - a Variety night by people with and without a disability in celebration of International Day for People with a Disability.
