Canberra ’ s Rebus Theatre creates social change through powerful , inclusive theatre . It run programs , creates original performances and delivers theatre-based workplace training .
Joel Swadling recently appeared in a Rebus production of The Beauty Thief . Devised by the cast , The Beauty Thief is a reflection on the idea of beauty , and its relationship to worth and power . In the form of a traditional fairy tale , the story unfolds using minimal dialogue , relying on movement and music to tell the tale , with dance sequences performed by the CDTeens from Canberra Dance Theatre .
All dialogue in the play was also projected on a screen , so the performance could be appreciated by people who are hard of hearing or deaf . The project was funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency .
