LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT This is a critical point in our year for the health and condition of the golf course. The work and preparation now will pay dividends through the winter and spring of next year. Recently, we completed our last fertilizer application the help feed the plant through its dormancy and give the roots a boost of carbohydrates next year. We have also increased our height of cut on the fairway and rough to increase our leaf tissue to aid in playing surfaces over the next few months. Transitioning into November, we will be focusing on winter weed management, specifically poa-annua. Most of you may remember the difficulty the Club had in eradicating this weed last Spring, but we feel more confident in our pre-emergent applications this season to help eliminate these issues. Lastly, we will be working on several drainage projects, with a focus on the 8th tee complex. Throughout the course, we will be working on the removal of the dead pine trees and blackjack oaks. All these tasks, along with edging of the bunkers and irrigation heads, will improve the detailing of the course. Thank you, Andy Maguire Superintendent 8
