Is the service well-led?
staff had improved their practices around wound care
documentation following the last quality check. Staff
received praise around their work in this aspect of people’s
care.
The management team spoke with us and showed us how

studies to help make sure they continually sought ways to
improve. This included staff being part of a pilot to focus

and the achievability of this in a person’s last few days of
life. Another example was a research study by Kings
University College London to look at the outcome
measures of people’s symptoms improving or being
managed by using a tool to define this work. The research
was used to help raise staff awareness and their own
learning around different aspects of hospice care which in
turn helped to promote the individual needs of people who
used the service.
