coined as the birthing process by Lynn-Marie Edwards( a final year student) through which all of us had to learn in a short space of time, to ensure fulfillment of our mission and objectives. Apart from those challenges, we would have also experienced many criticism and negativity, at times lack of participation and persons seeing the importance of having such a society. We recognised that we had to battle with the laissez-faire culture of Trinidadians to ensure that the objective in the development of a holistic university law student would be fulfilled. Over time, support grew, and the criticisms became constructive. We do therefore hope for continued support and recognition of the criticality of future law societies, in our road to becoming successful and positively contributing lawyers.
How do you feel about the success of the Law Society thus far?

Ideally, we have sought to develop a holistic law student who is moulded with the essential legal skills and attitudes of integrity so that we contribute not solely to our law faculty, or even the wider university but moreso our society. With such an understanding we will be able to empower ourselves to effect changes in the system to efficiently and effectively improve the quality of legal practice within our society.
What do you think the Law Society has now that it didn’ t have in the past year?
I would say the most important thing would be the increased support and
