content. However, CARILAW and West Indian Reports Online, allow us electronic, fulltext access, from on and off campus, to cases emanating from our own region.
Students have described you as very efficient. What can we as law students and the Law Society do to facilitate your duties as Faculty of Law, Librarian?
Thank you for the feedback. I continue to work towards improving my service to faculty members, students and the campus community. I urge students to: make responsible use of the print and electronic resources that are available to you, attend the information literacy training sessions that are offered by me throughout the academic year. Get in touch with me as soon as possible if you are in need of reference or research assistance. Regularly check your official UWI student e- mail accounts(@ my. uwi. edu) for updates from me.
Do you feel your location at the Alma Jordan Library is too removed from the rest of the faculty? How do you think your relocation into the faculty of law would improve the communication between you and the law students?
Liaison librarians for the various Faculties are currently based in The Alma Jordan Library – where the main subject collections and information services are situated. Some of these librarians serve faculty and students who are located at further points on the St. Augustine Campus than the Faculty of Law. As such, I do not truly think that my current location is comparatively too removed from the rest of the Faculty. Moreover, much of my communication with faculty members and students has taken place virtually – via e-mail – a mode of communication that is not constrained by distance or time.
Do you have any final words of advice to share with our readers?
Every worksheet and assignment is an opportunity to develop your legal research skills! You can learn something new about legal resources and research every day.
