It was indeed an honour and a privilege to be selected as captain of the house‘ Equity '. In the weeks leading up to Sports Day, it was a thrill to see the friendly competitiveness among the respective houses. Though " Team Equity " came fourth overall, it was the immense support from awesome team members like Janine Joseph and Jamila Thomas that made the journey an enjoyable one. I am sure that with a collaborated effort, the energy that was present can permeate to other Law Society events.

In general, the Housing System has given the students a real sense of ownership and has inspired and motivated them to bring out the best within them, not only as individuals but as a team, as a unit and as a family. We mix together far beyond the mere hallway crossings, with competition encouraging sportsmanship forging friendships that only stand to grow as time passes by. It is this growth together and encouragement that will stimulate future participation in making us the society and faculty we aim to be.

For generations, a Revolution has been seen as more than just a symbol of change, but of hope and a brighter future. The assembly of year 1’ s and year 2’ s was in dire need of a revolution to spark unification, and thus further develop the faculty. This was aptly portrayed by the sports day as it was encouraging to see every member of the house helping and assisting each other, while expressing sportsmanship. Although Revolution did not come 1 st,“ trophies gather dust, while memories are for a lifetime.

Sports create a bond between contemporaries that lasts a lifetime and that’ s exactly what the first annual sports day did. As captain of Rights I learned that determination and the will to win can form a strong bond between comrades and that sportsmanship outweighs competition. All the good times shared on that day helped to make us feel like ONE faculty and it’ s up to our successors to continue this legacy.
