RESTAURANT REVIEW-- JOEY B’ S
By Theresa Colombini
Nicknamed the restaurant that is“ redefining casual,” Joey B’ s is a great place to hang out and eat with your family or friends. One of the best things about Joey B’ s is that for older kids who are at that awkward stage between kids’ meals and adults’, Joey B’ s offers plentiful kids’ meals, especially cavanelli with cream sauce – a. k. a. alfredo.( Try pairing with tater tots; not the healthiest, but pretty good!) Plates of pulled-pork nachos are a towering 8” tall! Choose from sitting inside with lots of views of TV’ s or outside on the funky-shaped patio. Located on both the Hill and Manchester Rd. in Ballwin, Joey B’ s is a great place that you won’ t want to miss!
MOVIE REVIEW: MOANA
By Amelie Vogt
Recently, a new movie came out, Moana. This movie is about a girl named Moana Waialiki, who is a sea voyaging enthusiast and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her island ' s fishermen can ' t catch any fish and the crops fail, she learns that the demigod Maui caused the blight by stealing the heart of the goddess, Te Whiti. The only way to heal the island is to persuade Maui to return Te Whiti ' s heart, so Moana sets off on an epic journey across the Pacific with Maui. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Maui returns the heart of Te Fiti, and restores everything back to normal. You can find it in theaters now.
BOOK REVIEW: THE CITY OF EMBER
By Maureen Hannon
The City Of Ember, by Jeanne DuPrau, is definitely a book that I would give a 5 star rating. If you like a thriller, and a book that makes you hang off the edge of your chair, then here it is. This book is about an underground city that depends solely on electricity. But over time, the lights start to flicker and go out. No one knows what is happening. The city believes that the mayor will solve the problem and save them all. The mayor, though, is a wolf that dresses in sheep ' s clothing. When all seems lost, two unlikely heroes set their hearts on saving their city, and to do that, they have to dig into the history books, and sort through the city ' s questionable past and existence. Along the way, they encounter dangerous secrets, not only about their city, and the power generator, but also about the mayor. Little do they know, some secrets are better left hidden. This book is the first in a terrific series. Now, go grab the book. Happy reading!
