Dr. Rachid Bendriss, Associate Dean of Student Outreach, Educational Development & Foundation Programs.

More than any time in the past, this year has been particularly challenging for everyone around the globe. While navigating through the uncertainty posed by a global pandemic, life in general undertakes a new dimension. As we carry through this year's struggles, many opportunities arose for a different type of creativity, hence more inclusion and integration. In short, both the dimensions of time and space have been redefined: On-site open houses have been replaced by virtual ones; regional school visits were carried through video conferencing; and enrichment programs were implemented online, still including some hands-on activities.  And as much as we all miss personal face to face interactions, this new modality of operation allowed us to reach out to more students and more countries around the world.

It is an understatement to say that our faculty and staff have brilliantly transformed our mode of operation overnight, whether during their curriculum delivery or through their outreach support. Moreover, it is equally admirable how students have been able to demonstrate resilience through this whole process. This fantastic job testifies to the agility of the learning systems and WCM-Q as a teaching institution in facing the impact of a challenge as enormous as the pandemic.

I invite you all to peruse through this special edition of our Cornell Colors magazine, and to take pride in your accomplishments, whether you are a high school student, a teacher, or a faculty member, as you have all contributed to proving that education remains one of the top human needs.
