LET TER FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER SHILES' STORY HAPPY NEW YEAR! Spanish Wells Golf and Country Club had a very successful 2019. Our successes can be attributed to the teamwork, communication and cooperation by the SWCA board, the Asset Oversight Committee (AOC), the Community Liaison Committee (CLC), all our Club Members, and our entire team on the ground. I would be remiss if I did not mention the great support we receive from our Corporate Accounting, Payroll, IT, and Risk Management teams as well as many others who provide their expertise each day. A few highlights from 2019 include the renovation of the tee boxes on all 27 golf holes and the addition of 60 new members. We have lighter and healthier menu options in the Pub and Restaurant and by most accounts, our service staff have a higher approval rating than we’ve had in a long time. This can be attributed to Tim and Andrea making good hiring decisions and continuing to train them into a cohesive team. We also added a facility maintenance person named Leo Portal. Leo has been pressure washing, painting and repairing our buildings and anything else that is needed. Leo always tells me, “this is my house” as he takes great pride in making the facility look better for our members and guests. We’ve added a state-of-the-art public address (PA) system that produces a wonderful sound when playing music or when using the microphone for events. I couldn’t be happier with the team we have built, the culture we operate within and the continued support and loyalty of all the members. Again, I want to wish you a Happy & Healthy New Year and look forward to working with our team to provide you with a fun and enjoyable experience at the club in 2020!
