GDPR - Is Your Business Covered?
On June 7th, 2018, SACC-Philadelphia and NACC-Philadelphia hosted this year’s first event in the
series on Business Technology seminars, titled: GDPR - Is Your Business Covered? at Hero Digital
The event consisted of a panel discussion on the European Union’s new regulation on how
companies use and store personal data information, titled the General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR). This law went into effect at the end of May and affects companies that have customers
or employees located within the European Union.
The panel of experts in law, blockchain and cyber risk discussed some of the GDPR challenges
that American businesses may encounter and how to overcome them in the best way possible.
Maria Johansson, project manager at HERO Digital and SACC-Philadelphia’s Secretary, was the
moderator for the evening. It was a lively and interesting seminar, followed by further discussions
and networking after the panel had finished.
