Andrew Lord - round the world adventures
Andrew Lord, roving journalist and veteran round-the-world rider is about to start the next leg of his epic motorcycle adventure. This time he's armed with a TUTORO Auto to take care of his chain lube requirements.
Kicking off from Panama in Oct Andrew will continue his one man un-supported motorcycle round the world adventure....
Andrew explains ........
I will return to my bike on the 27th of October with the aim of crossing into Colombia sometime towards the end of December to begin my journey south. My goal is to travel overland to the tip of south America and then transfer the bike to southern Africa.
I will be documenting my travels with photography and as a roving correspondent to both printed and online publications.
I got on my first motorcycle when I was fourteen, I had to hide from my mum round the back of the house.
Since then, motorcycles have been an integral part of my life. Truth be known, it is a motorcycle that has led me on this journey around the
world, a journey through more than just countries, towns, and places. Adventure touring to "find myself". Man and machine have strived to live on the edge of...where, everywhere!. Visiting over 20 countries in nearly 6 years, believing that travelling is not just about seeing sights and adding tacks to your map, rather integrating into the local colour, living the actuality of the place, it's peoples, and allowing myself to be constantly transformed by this.
When I'm not learning about new cultures by living in them, I try to find time to take photos ... you also learn a lot- about yourself, the bike and the kit you are using- from boots to backpacks (and chain oilers!) so I'm able to give real world, hardcore experience led feedback to the people and companies that make them.
Oh, and did I mention I try desperately to stop having fun and start getting serious about recording my adventures. Ahh...the blissful challenges of freedom.
