When you love the Jersey Shore as much as I do, you realize it isn’ t just a destination— it’ s a place where lifetimes unfold, circles close, and old friends always find their way back home. Here are two stories close to my heart that remind me why I love what I do.
From a Jersey Shore Summer to Generational Dreams
Decades ago, during a beautiful coastal summer I met a brilliant cool girl rom Jersey City. We were both attending summer school— she because she was exceptionally smart, and I because high school Spanish had me entirely confused. Bonded by the shared anticipation of our teenage years, we became fast, dear friends. As life so beautifully does, it eventually took us on separate paths: different colleges, marriages, careers, and children. You know the story.
Yet, all roads lead back to the Shore. Years later, we found ourselves right back where it all began in Spring Lake. The true magic happened when her son called me, looking to plant his own roots here. Together, we found him a spectacular home. Two years later, that same trust turned into a beautiful referral: a wonderful family relocating from California who purchased a stunning residence in Manasquan, just a week after their family member closed on another gorgeous property in Brielle.
A true full-circle moment, spanning generations and coastlines.
The Bicycle, the Magazine and the Art of the Long Game
My freshman year of college took me to sunny Boca Raton. The popular campus spot was a lounge affectionately known as“ The Rat.” At 17, I was strictly barred from entering by a stickler of a student bar manager. But the moment I turned 18, that manager became a great friend. After graduation, everyone scattered— some stayed in Florida, others chased careers, built families, and moved away.
Fast forward twenty-five years. I was sitting in my real estate office on Third Avenue in Spring Lake when a man pulled up on a bicycle, walked through the door, and smiled.
He had been summering in the area for years, spotted my feature in a luxury real estate magazine, and recognized his old college friend. That chance encounter rekindled a wonderful relationship with him and his wife. Professionally, it turned into an incredible partnership. I had the privilege of listing and selling their luxury Spring Lake home, helping them acquire another, and another, and another. Who knows what beautiful property is down the pike next!
