English Ivy seemed to swallow the smokehouse as it stood perched , overlooking the weed-choked pond and fallow fields of Sylvanside Farm . The nearby Poplar Barn , still on record as largest in the county , was left in disrepair : mountains of used bikes , broken boats and families of raccoons were the only evidence of life within its walls . The property was in foreclosure , a shadow of its former position as a cornerstone of Loudoun history .
