As a result of that mission , their livestock yields high quality meat that is more flavorful and has less fat than grainfed animals raised in commercial feedlots . Cattle , sheep and goats are raised humanely with minimal human intervention . All animals stay with their mothers and are weaned naturally . “ I bet you could make a nice spoon out of this piece of cherry !” This off-hand comment made by Drew Lauten ’ s brother while processing firewood is what started this endeavor back in 2010 . Today , around 1000 utensils later , Drew ’ s goal is to make each piece an heirloom quality utensil that is a joy to use . He makes them one small batch at a time in his tiny workshop in Lovettsville . They can be purchased at a few local shops including Georges Mill Farm Store in Lovettsville and Muz & Rose in Leesburg .
