Does GPA

change a student’ s mood?

Have you ever checked your grade point average( or GPA) in Gradelink? I think if you are in middle school or in high school you must have checked it at least once! Before we jump into our topic, l want to tell you what a GPA means to some people. Who doesn’ t know what a GPA is. Basically, GPA is the average score of your grade. In my school, the highest GPA you can get is 4.30. This is when you get an A + in every single subject. But it is a hard thing for me to get that score because it is nearly impossible to maintain a GPA over 4. Some people around me do get a high GPA. For example, my friend Eddy regularly gets more than 3 in the GPA. From my experience l will say yes. Because when l check my Gradelink and it’ s like 2.56, l feel like I am going to mentally crash out!
The second reason is that sometimes you work hard at a specific subject and after taking the test you go to gradelink. Then you see the grade has increased causing your GPA to get higher. When you see that you will feel very happy and after the next day you see the GPA has decreased to 0.40. I don’ t want to imagine this, but you will feel very upset. Which can change the sunny day into a rainy day in your brain.
The first reason why l think GPA changes people’ s moods is because when you check Gradelink and see a low average GPA, some might feel very disappointed or distracted by the GPA. Sometimes when people are hanging out with friends that have a high GPA, they are going to talk about it for the whole time. When they are talking about their GPA and your GPA is low you don’ t really want to talk about it as it can feel a little bit embarrassing. So, when your GPA is low, and friends are talking about the GPA and that can also make you feel bad which can affect your overall mood.
