In the last issue of Soccer Journal, I stated that soccer is facing an uphill battle in making the game a major sport that Americans talk about on a regular basis like they do the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and those same college sports. It would be lovely to chat with a neighbor about soccer without feeling as though you’ re an alien. And wouldn’ t it be great if sports radio and television broadcasts included soccer on a more regular basis?
