Navigating L . A . County and Metro Contracting Opportunities With Los Angeles County Supervisor and LA Metro Board Member Hilda L . Solis
Hilda L . Solis , Los Angeles County Supervisor and L . A . Metro Board Member , co-hosted a workshop on July 16 , 2024 , entitled , “ Navigating L . A . County and Metro Contracting Opportunities .” Workshop co-host Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services ( MWIS ), a Hub International Company , administers the LA Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ) on behalf of L . A . County , L . A . Metro , and the City of Los Angeles . The CDABP offers an array of services , including educational and outreach workshops , for local small contractors seeking to work on public works construction projects with those municipalities .

L . A . Metro Board Member welcome to webinar participants , stating , “ We have high hopes that the workshop […] will provide you with valuable insights and tools to maximize your potential . Waqas Rehman , Director of Infrastructure and Economic Development for Supervisor Solis , and a strong proponent of the program , was also present to voice his support of the program .
President of Trinity Contracting Concepts , Tyrone Auston , shared how the program helped transform his business . He underscored the pivotal role of initiatives such as the CDABP in bolstering the growth of local small contractors , particularly in navigating the intricacies of public works construction . “ Most of us understand the trade , but it ’ s the support that we need with getting the paperwork together […] that the program offers is great for small businesses ,” he noted .
