Michael Christensen , LAWA ’ s interim chief development officer , told the audience that “ this is an interesting time ” in its $ 30 billion overall capital program , one of the largest in the nation . He said that “ it is heartwarming to see the big crowd ,” which numbered over 300 .

MWIS staffed the registration table as well as a separate table offering in greeting and registering information about the L . A . Regional CDABP . participants . MWIS also had an information booth where attendees could learn more about the LA Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ), which MWIS administers on behalf of the City of Los Angeles , LAWA , LA Metro , and the County of Los Angeles .
One of forum attendees was Christina Thompson , CEO of G2 Electrical Contracting , and a CDABP participant . Chistina shared that she ’ d attended a past CDABP academy on bidding and estimating , as well as one on contract award and management . Her firm is currently working on multiple LAWA projects as a subcontractor . She stated , “ The CDABP assists , guides , and helps small and local contractors . It helped me . I recommend it to others .”
