Deciding whether wanting to live forever or not is a question that is not often asked of people , and with that people ’ s responses also differ from each other . In this interview , I asked Ms . Angie Santiago , the school ’ s horticulture teacher , if she wanted to live forever .
When asked whether she wanted to live forever , she responded , “ I wouldn ’ t want to live forever .” Ms . Angie explained how nothing lasts forever . If she had immortality , she states that Wmost of her contemporary friends and family would be gone while she stayed behind . “ If I were given this gift , I would want to educate the new generation and teach them about past events .”
I asked whether death scared her , and she said , “ It doesn ’ t necessarily scare me because everyone will eventually die at some point .” People who aren ’ t scared of death just like Ms . Angie tend to feel more contented in life .“ Everyday , I try to live my life as happy as it could be ... or feel contented every day , so if a mishap ever happens to me , I can say that I did something in my life .”
She explained how younger people tend to rush life and not realize how quickly time passes by . She advised me to pace myself in life . “ You have to live every day of your life as if it were the last ... when we get older , we won ’ t have any regrets .”
Lastly , I asked why she thinks a large percentage of people are afraid of death . She responded with , “ Death isn ’ t exactly a bad thing , but since human beings , we have these kinds of emotions and ideas that life will always e happy . If you have a lot of plans for the future and none has been accomplished yet , you get afraid when you revise that you only have a short time .”
