Greg W . Hennessy was retained to represent a client regarding completing two probates . The client was told the probates would be completed in approximately six months . The client retained Hennessy again approximately one year later to complete another probate when another family member died . It took almost five years to complete one of the first two probates . The second and third were never completed and have been open for more than 10 and nine years respectively . The client was harmed due to Hennessy ’ s conduct . Hennessy admitted his conduct violated N . D . R . Prof . Conduct 1.3 , Diligence . Hennessy , disciplinary counsel , and the hearing panel acknowledged aggravating factors that Hennessy had received three prior admonitions and of Hennessy ’ s substantial experience in the practice of law . Hennessy , disciplinary counsel , and the hearing panel acknowledged a mitigating factor of absence of a dishonest or selfish motive . Hennessy consented to a reprimand by the hearing panel and was required to pay the costs and expenses of the disciplinary matter in the amount of $ 350 .
