COUNTY UPDATE VI THE DUBLIN TRANSIT CENTER PARKING GARAGE PROJECT

On October 29 , 2021 , Alameda County issued the highly anticipated Dublin Transit Center Parking Garage Project Request for Proposal , with an extended due date of November 15 , 2021 . Although the original completion date for the project was anticipated to be in 2020 , the project was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic , which further complicated the process because funding comes from multiple organizations with a variety of different standards . For example , state funding for the project required that the construction contract be awarded by April 9 , 2020 , which was not possible .
The $ 34 Million project seeks to develop a multilevel parking structure on a 2.4-acre Countyowned property located next to the Dublin / Pleasanton BART Station . The project will not only benefit commuters , but our small , local , and diverse businesses as well by giving them more options for employment and opportunities to succeed .

In March 2020 , in response to the pandemic , the Transportation Commission granted a year-long extension for selecting a contractor .
Minority Business Enterprise ( MBE ), Women Business Enterprise ( WBE ), Local Business Enterprise ( LBE ) and Small , Local & Emerging Business ( SLEB ) participation requirements were strongly enforced in the RFP . This requirement gives small , local , and diverse businesses an opportunity to get involved and work on a largescale project .
On March 22 , 2022 , the Dublin Transit Center Parking Garage Project was awarded to McCarthy Building Companies , Inc Contractors interested in participating on this project are strongly encouraged to contact McCarthy directly to learn more about upcoming subcontracting opportunities .
