Veteran and Service Member Recognition

Since World War I , challenge coins have been used as a way to honor , encourage , and reward individuals for their personal and professional accomplishments . A symbol of strength and commitment , these coins are given to NWTC ’ s graduating service men and women . The College appreciates the service and sacrifices these students provided while serving our country and their dedication to continuing their education . NWTC recognizes these students as an important part of the campus community and therefore awards them a special challenge coin . Graduates wearing the red , white and blue cords are students that are military veterans or are currently serving in the Armed Forces .
