A longstanding tradition of the graduating classes at the University of North Dakota ( UND ) School of Law is to give back to the school through a lasting gift that impacts students , faculty , and alumni . One graduating class decided to gift a collection of rural courthouse photographs to be displayed at the school and provide an enduring connection between UND Law and the state ’ s legal community .
The Class of 2017
The UND School of Law ’ s Class of 2017 was among the first classes to enjoy the expanded classrooms , study spaces , and central commons area of the newly renovated law school building . “ As a class , we felt providing a tangible reminder of the UND School of Law ’ s connection to the North Dakota legal community was an appropriate way to show our appreciation for all the school had offered us during our years there ,” says Brady Pelton , graduate of the Class of 2017 and general counsel and director of government affairs for the North Dakota Petroleum Council . “ Our class decided professional photographs of courthouses throughout North Dakota would help preserve parts of the state ’ s legal history within the very building where so many of its legal professionals received a legal education .”
