DANCE

The dance curriculum provides children and adults with a highquality , progressive , and enjoyable experience in dance education . Our programs incorporate an interactive and friendly environment that allows students to learn and grow at their own pace . Introductory classes focus on movement , body awareness , social skills , and coordination . Progressive dance classes provide a more disciplined approach to learning technique and choreography , while promoting self-confidence . The Studio offers a warm and inviting space to move and create while celebrating all interests and skill-levels . We welcome you to join our dance community . Mini Showcase & Optional Costumes : Dancers perform a recorded showcase during their last scheduled class . Optional $ 60 fee would include a showstopping costume to put the finishing touch on your performer ’ s showcase debut ! Students get to keep their costume , following their performance , to cherish as their own . Elect into a costume option and include your child ’ s measurements on their participant information form , submitted on the first day of class .
Attire
Ballet and Contemporary Classes : Girls wear pastel pink leotards ( without skirt or tutu ), pink tights and pink ballet shoes . Boys wear black pants , white or black shirt and black ballet shoes .
Hip-Hop , Pom , and Performance Comfortable clothes ( no jeans ) and clean-soled shoes . No boots or street shoes .
Jazz and Jazz II : Black pants ( no bare knees ), black leotard and black jazz shoes
Mini Camps & Dance Days Programs : Comfortable clothes ( no jeans ) and clean-soled shoes . No wet or dirty street shoes . Ballet attire is encouraged . Themed attire is accepted , as long as it is not restrictive
DANCE PRIVATE AND SMALL GROUP LESSONS
Instructors provide one-on-one or small group instruction for dancers of all ages and skill level . Lessons are 45 minutes and are customized for each student ’ s learning and development . Enjoy a mini camp experience that includes dance and musical theatre class , story time , costumes , and games ! Explore each camp ’ s theme through movement , stories , craft and media . Exercises for alignment , flexibility , and coordination develop a strong foundation of understanding classical ballet training . Posture and placement of classical ballet are emphasized . Students gradually move into the traditional ballet format of barre followed by center exercises . Key components are musical timing , turn out , proper alignment and memorization of ballet terminology . Reduced class size allows for social distancing .
