Covid-19 Closing Updates
VIA ATTORNEYS AT CAMPBELL & BRANNON
• Closings are still happening on time, as are our document recording ability with the courthouses
• Most sellers are either signing “curbside,” just outside of our office,
or by tele-notary – we will discuss those options with sellers
• Most cash buyers are signing electronically without having to come to our office
• Most buyers with loans are still coming into our office to sign because:
a) lenders often can’t get closing docs out several days prior to closing
b) most buyers don’t have the ability to print off a hundred or so pages, letter and legal sized at home
c) a fair amount of lenders still don’t allow tele-notary closings
• To be eligible for a tele-notary closing, the signing seller or signing buyer MUST be in Georgia
• Lenders are generally able to perform, courthouses are open enough for title to be searched and
documents to be recorded, and we are no longer encouraging the inclusion of a COVID-19 special stip
in the contract
