I write to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gift of a scholarship . I grew up in a small town in the northwest corner of the state , where I learned very early on that my community was more than just a group of people with whom I shared a space . These individuals became not only my biggest cheerleaders , but they also became my family . I never would have thought that when I left Crosby in 2009 to begin my educational pursuit that this support system and family would expand so much more . I have learned over the years that the power of kindness exists everywhere . I feel supported in my dreams every single day by strangers who offer a smile and a hello , by the “ you can do its ” from so many different individuals , and by gifts , such as this , from generous people like you . Because I have been blessed with such unconditional support in my journey , I have dedicated my future career to giving back to my communities . I hope to establish a career in public interest law , so I can offer kindness to others , just as kindness was given to me . I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me achieve my dreams .
I have often been asked how I survive the cold North Dakota winters , and I find myself always saying , the warmth of the people . Thank you again .
