Andrew Askew
What is your current position?
I work as an associate attorney at the Pearce
Durick Law Firm, where I focus on civil and
commercial litigation, real estate law, and general
business representations. I also maintain a
legislative lobbying and government relations
practice.
What is your hometown, college attended
and law school attended?
I am from Devils Lake and I attended St. Cloud
State University and University of North Dakota
for my undergraduate studies. I attended law
school at the University of North Dakota.

What professional work did you do before
law school?
Prior to law school, I was a full-time student,
working on degrees in business management and
English.
What led you to a career in law?
As a child, I always wanted to be an attorney
like my dad.
How long have you been on the
SBAND Board?
I have been on the SBAND Board since
December 2016.
What other involvement have you had with
SBAND prior to being on the Board?
Prior to serving on the Board, I was selected
to be on the Joint Law School/SBAND
Committee.
What is the last book you read (good or bad)?
As part of a book club, I’m currently reading
or listening to The Disappearing Spoon by Sam
Kean.
