13 TIPS to make moving day a breeze

Keep It Together Keep all your packing supplies in a basket , so you can move from room to room with everything you need
Moving Electronics
Take a picture of the back of your electronics before you remove any wiring so you will remember how to put it back together . Keep all wires and hardware
together for every piece .
Dinnerware
For keeping your dishes safe , place disposable plates in between your dinnerware .
Pack & Label Well Pack well and be sure to label the box ' s contents , destination , and loading order .
Heavy Items
For heavy items like books , put them in your rolling luggage to save your back and some space !
Clean Beforehand If at all possible , get into your new place before moving day so that you can clean before you bring all your belongings in . At the very least , you ' ll feel so much better if you give the bathroom and kitchen a good scrubbing !
First-Night Box Pack up all your essentials ( coffee , medicine , toiletries , clothes ) and have a specified , " First Night Box "
Refrigerator Thaw your refrigerator at least two days prior to moving it .
Toiletries Better safe than sorry : Place plastic wrap over your bottles of toiletries and then screw the caps on to prevent any leaking out .
Drawers
When moving furniture , remove the drawers , but leave their contents inside . Simply wrap with plastic wrap and there ' s no need to pack and unpack them !
Lawn Equipment Drain lawn and home equipment of any gas or oil before you attempt to move them .
Breakables
Brown grocery bags , shirts , and socks can work wonderfully to
protect breakables during a move .
Utilize All Space ! There are plenty of household items that have compartments and space to utilize during your move . For instance , you can use your slow cooker to store your spices in for the move .
